Loved them until a few stopped working.
I loved the lights initially because they’re just bright enough and blend in with the fence during the day well enough. Not too annoyingly bright either. The pack of 16 was perfect for my backyard. I noticed last night that a few have stopped working out of nowhere after about a month. Very disappointing because I really liked them. Not sure if I’d repurchase or recommend since they stopped working so quickly…Update! They all work still. Just needed a very sunny day for a recharge. So I do give these 5 stars again!

Great looking lights, however, not bright
I bought these to use on the railing and steps, they are much less bright than I thought they were going to be. Also, one of them broke after falling while we were installing, so be careful. They do look nice, and they are functional, just not bright enough for my needs, I will keep them because they do look nice!!!

Nice light effect
We have a rather large deck. At night, I wanted some light to see the perimeter of the deck. They are brighter than I thought they would be, which is a plus and they are sturdier than another brand I purchased from another site. Easy to install. We’ll see how they hold up to a Michigan winter.

Great Customer Support!
UPDATE: Great customer service reached out to me shortly after I left a review and reimburse me for my troubles. I ordered another box of lights and they all work so far so maybe my first order was an oddball. I would definitely buy from them again in the future since customer support was so helpful and nice.Received the lights on Saturday and installed them the following day on Sunday. Lights had all day Monday to charge under the sun. 3 don’t work and 4 have a faint light compared to the others. 3+4=7 bad lights out of 16 lights is almost half. There’s no support website and the 888 number doesn’t work! VERY FRUSTRATING but I’ll have to remove all lights just to return them.

Ordered black, received brown.
I bought these to help illuminate my walkway to my porch. They were very easy to install with a power drill and work quite well. I wouldn’t say they give off a crazy amount of light, but enough light to not trip over anything. I was a bit disappointed when they arrived in more of a brown color than the sleek black look, but they still look good.

Pleasantly Surprised
The size of the box was startlingly small for 16 pieces. I thought perhaps I miss ordered, or got the wrong size.Visually, they seem simple, not super high end material; mostly plastic. I chose brown to blend in with the cinder wall I was putting them on. I sticky backed 8 of them to the wall over lunch with the included double sided tape. They look alright.This evening after our got dark I stepped outside to see how well they did. It’s just the right amount of light. Enough to navigate safely, but muted enough not to glare or disturb the neighbors.Overall I would say good value for the price point. I will put up the rest tomorrow.Time will tell on the durability and longevity.

Low cost but not too bright
Easy to install, dirt cheap. Appear to be weatherproof. I like the low profile, not obtrusive at all. Only thing I didn’t like is they are not bright enough to be useful for my application, which is deck lighting. They came fully charged so it was nice to be able to use them right out of the box. I added one star to the rating due to excellent customer service.

Good for making stairs visible for safety
At first I thought these were to light up a deck and was disappointed, but the seller worked with me to use them to mark deck stairs for safety. They are good for that. Now I need to find other lights (not solar) to light up my deck. So these are great for safety at night which makes the steps more visible.

Great price especially with coupons/discounts, but may come with a dud or two.
The SOLPEX Solar Deck Lights fit the bill in terms of what I was looking for, and with discounts applied it really is a solid purchase for the quantity of lights. I recently moved into a new apartment with a balcony with metal railing, so instead of using the provided screws, I stuck some magnetic squares to them instead — works like a charm, and the brightness was actually better than expected. For me personally, I do have to bump it down to 4 starts simply because one of the units had a weaker bulb right out of the packaging, though that’s likely just bad luck for my own experience and I’m still trying to troubleshoot. If anything, I’d give 5 stars if there were more manufacturer contact info available so I could request a replacement, but overall I’m satisfied.

Light not working and contacting customer service
I received the lights and installed them. Very frustrating all with the exception of 1 work so I have to remove all lights to return them. The look great and holds charge until the sun comes out. I called the 888 number no announcement of the company it literally says leave a message. I am updating my rating to a 4 customer service reached out to me based on my review and I was sent a new box of lights at no charge and they arrived promptly however 2 lights didn’t work in the replacement box.

Some don’t work
4/5 stars because a couple of the lights didn’t work. I haven’t tested them all yet, I needed about 8 for my patio, and two that I have used don’t work correctly-one isn’t lighting at all and one is fainter than the rest by about half, making it stand out. They don’t provide much light to see by, but if you’re placing them for the aesthetics or to outline a footpath, they’ll do nicely. If you get a box where they all work.

Great lights but poor customer service
This was the second set of these lights that I purchased because I loved the first set so much. However, I have an issue with one light in this second set. After a few months, the light no longer came on so I decided to charge the battery and even tried a brand new battery. Once the new/charged battery was installed, the light will not go OFF! My guess is the light circuitry is faulty and the battery discharged because the light was always on. So now I either have to leave the light on all the time until the battery discharges again or get another set (it’s too late to return it). The problem is, even though the description says, “What’s more, in any case you have problem, just contact us, we will help you solve the problem as soon as possible.”, I called and got a recorded message saying, “Thanks for calling. Please leave a message.” I called twice and left a message with no response. Don’t think I’ll be buying any more lights from this company.

Nothing special but works well for the money
Seems to work well for the money – nothing special about the craftsmanship or build quality to admire but it gets the job done. If it gets a couple hours of sunlight during the day it can last pretty much throughout the night and it’s a good brightness level for an accent light or for illuminating a stairwell. Like others have mentioned it is better to put these on the sides of the stairwell rather than on the steps themselves. This actually lights up the steps better and also the units are not really sturdy enough to be stepped on.I do wish that the unit screwed in from the side rather than from the top, this would’ve made it much easier with my placement at least. The included screws are kind of cheap and don’t seem to engage well with any of the bits I have – I bet the heads will be stripped if I ever have to remove them as the metal used is quite soft.It appears that a single IC labeled YX8051 pretty much handles everything as far as handling the charging and light control.The manual makes mention of being able to replace the battery with a similar one. The unit can be easily opened up by removing two screws and it looks like you could simply swap in a new 1.2V NiMh battery. The stock battery appears to be pretty cheap/basic and is labeled with a 200mAh capacity. In the future if it dies I’ll probably test out replacing this with a higher capacity AAA from Tenergy or Eneloop. It’s probably overkill for the application but it shouldn’t hurt and could potentially give you a bit more of a buffer to power through the cloudy days.I am skeptical of how well these cheap batteries will hold up in extreme temperatures especially the subzero winters here so we shall see.Also it would be great if they sold quantities other than a 16 pack – with only one quantity offered you’re bound to end up with extras laying around.UPDATE: Okay so 80% of these stopped working after one Chicago winter so you best either take these inside during extreme cold temperatures or try to swap in a hardier AAA battery.

Not Quite What I Thought
I bought these for the chance to have the same color or make a pattern through-out my back yard. These cycle through all the colors all the time. The brightness isn’t the Best, but definitely not the worst. about in the middle of range depending on the color it’s on at the time.

I like that they turn on when it is very dark
The solar deck lights arrived in good condition, I left them charging under the sun for about 16 hours.I installed them on our balcony with double tape as suggested by someone in a previous review, the fence is metal and I didn’t want to complicate things with holes.I like that they turn on when it is very dark, which is good for the battery to last until the next dayThey have been installed for 3 days, within a month I will update this review.A month has passed, the lamps take sun from noon until the sun goes down, sometimes 3 or 4 lamps are on at dawn. I think that if the lamps have sun all day it should work without problems until dawn. I am very happy and grateful with these lamps

These lights are not as bright as I like and it doesn’t last long. All the lights are dim after 9:30PM.Also 1 light doesn’t work as you can see from the picture. It’s been charging 2 days now in sunny California. Too much of a hassle to return.

Don’t work
These don’t work well but I’ve mainly had them in the winter. If you happen to get full sun for 14 hours during the day you might get an hour or two of light out of these. It doesn’t actually provide any light for visibility but more for looks. Customer service is wonderful but wish the lights were stronger

Cute lights but received some duds
They’re not the brightest honestly but I really do like them. They look like stars when you look out at the them. They don’t provide enough light to see anything else, unfortunately. And considering I bought 3 boxes of these and only received a few of duds, that’s pretty cool. Except I really needed all of them to work. They’re super easy to install. And they seem to be pretty water resistant since they’re on my fence and it has rained a few times already. Overall, I do recommend them. Just hope you don’t get any duds! I’m trying to figure out if I can make due without buying another box bc the duds left me short handed.

Great value
We needed some light for the steps of our deck at night. This product fit that need perfectly. Each light is small so it does not get in the way and we put one on each side of each step and it does exactly what we were hoping. The set comes with screws and anchors for a more permanent installation and a thin strip of foam for each light with an adhesive on each side for a less permanent installation. We started with that to get it position where we wanted and to be sure they were going to fit our needs. The screws will be used soon. We live in the Northeast so I am hoping the lights can handle the snow in the winter. They are supposed to be waterproof.

Perfect for lighting!
These are the perfect lights. They light up our walking path to our dock at our lake house. They are easy to assemble and attach to any railing. They are small, and not easy to see, as they blend in. Give out the perfect amount of light without being too bright. We have had them for a while now, and they seem to be water resistant.
