Beefy transformer — probably more capacity than you need with LED fixtures
Easy installation. The photocell works well, comes on when it should. You can set it for as many hours, I think up to 9, before it turns off. There is also a mode where it is always on. You use this way if you have a smart outlet. Since most LED landscape arrays are more like 50 watts you probably don’t need this beast. But the smart 90 watt units cost almost as much. However, it’s possible that there is a significant draw whenever this is turned on, even at a light load — I didn’t test for this.

Nice replacement for the previous transformer
Our previous transformer finally failed after 15 years. We were looking for something with a smaller footprint and updated functionality. This unit hit both marks. It is half the size of the previous transformer and has the advantage of a countdown timer. This is nice as the previous unit did have a light sensor but you had to add a separate timer if you wanted it to run a certain number of hours. Now we can select the number of hours after sunset. Much easier.I would recommend this to anyone.

Amazing water proofing bags.
As an amateur adventurer I tend to get in some wet conditions, from scuba diving, snorkeling, bicycling in weekend events, and hiking trips, my gear gets rained on, splashed, and often dunked in water. I’ve been looking for some good bags to help support the journeys and keep my gear and other items dry. These bags really to the job well.I will say starting off that these are not sealed by a zipper or a zip lock system, these are roll tops. So complete water proof bags these are not, they can take a dunk in the ocean, but being submerged for a while they will take on water over time. The Gray one is the largest one and comes with shoulder straps to carry it like a back pack. The straps come with a waist strap for some stability, but for long hikes it won’t hold the bag on the hips like a true hip support bag will. There isn’t any frame or hard spines to aid in that support for extremely long hikes. The other two have hand handles like the large one also does, they don’t have back pack straps but they do have single shoulder straps on each. The medium sized bag has an inner insulation for hot or cold items. It works good for short stints, but won’t maintain temps for extended periods, especially in the more extreme exterior temps. Our next adventure takes us to Alaska and the snow and glaciers with some dog sleds, we are anxious to try these in the much colder conditions to see how they hold up. So far in lake water, ocean, and rain, they have worked great for these conditions in warmer temps.Well made, these are. The rubber walls are plenty thick. Some have exterior pockets for quicker access, some of those pockets are a mesh, others are zippered pockets to protect a phone or a wallet. For water resistance, these work great!

Very well made
This is the best built landscape lighting transformer I have came across, the transformer itself is completely housed in stainless steel the top is spot welded in place and the four sides are screwed together with stainless screws. I have shown in the attached pics. how well this thing is put together. The bottom of the transformer the connectors are located and have heavy duty screw type connections like most breakers. I have also shown both sides with the safety labels and information about the transformer, I did not show a picture of the back since it’s simply a solid piece of stainless steel. This thing is like a tank compared to other landscape transformers I have had in the recent past where they are solid plastic. I have double checked and it offers dusk till dawn lighting or timed lighting as well as timed from dusk and the desired hours afterward. The L.E.D. display is pretty basic but does exactly as needed and the hook ups under the transformer are for both 12v. and 15v. it delivers a max of 200amps. which is in the middle of the road for most applications, if you run 10w bulbs it should power around 18 of them efficiently, I use 20w bulbs and it powers 8 of them without problems. You should never exceed 80% of the transformers ability due to overheating. The transformer came packaged very well in a double boxed and molded foam rubber for extra padding, the power cord is about 6 ft. long and is of decent quality. The back of the transformer box is where the hanger is located and it is the simple recessed screw holes that side over mounting screws which also came with the transformer as well as 2 anchors for softer material . I would really recommend this transformer if yours is shot or like mine you can’t get the controls to respond anymore this is a great option and believe me well for the money you will not be disappointed, I simply have nothing negative to say about this transformer other than it’s not one with all the bells and whistles but, all I need is for my landscape lights to come on and go off when I want them to so this is perfect. Thank you

Solid construction; Voltage a little off.
For starters, this thing seems to be very well made. It’s heavy duty metal and is very heavy for a transformer its size. The stainless steel housing looks very durable. It is put together with spot welds for the primary case. The mounting plates are attached with rivets. I’m not sure what these other materials are and it’s hard to say if they will corrode over time or not but the spot welds look a bit questionable. The controls on the unit are very simple. Two button operation to cycle between Off, Auto, and 1-9 hour countdown timers. It would be nice if it had a clock and programmable timer, but honestly, I’ve always just used the automatic photocell operation so the lights come on a dark and go off in daylight. The downside of the hourly setting is when the time changes between seasons. For example if you have it set to ‘6’, the timer will come on a dusk and stay on for 6 hours. So if it gets dark at 6pm it goes off at 12am. If it gets dark at 4pm, it goes off at 10pm. Again, probably not a big deal but would be nice to have a clock to program a specific on/off timer. It’s not advertised to do that so that’s not a negative. What I did find to be a bit of a negative is the voltage output (no pun intended). It has 2 separate outputs, one 12VAC and one 15VAC. The 12VAC measures a steady 12.74 volts. The 15VAC output only measures 14.31 volts. Same result with either common terminal. The higher 12 volt reading is actually good since the voltage will drop over longer runs. The fact that the 15 volt terminal is already well under 15 volts means it will be even less than that down the line. Not sure if I got a bad one or not, but I run all my stuff on 12VAC anyway. Hope this helps!

First transformer lost, never received, Amazon agent helpful, second transformer was dead on arrival
First order of the transformer was never received. A few days after the expected delivery date, I contacted an Amazon agent to report the issue, the agent reviewed the matter and issued a replacement. I promptly received the replacement transformer, but during installation, I determined that the 12-volt side of the transformer, in the always-on (zero) selection, was dead. At the always-on position, the transformer cycled with a click and buzz, indicating that the power was on, but the voltage output was zero, Returned the transformer to Amazon. I’m not able to recommend this brand of transformer based on my experience. It didn’t work for me, but you may have a totally different experience.

Nothing about this that I don’t like.
This transformer works really well. It operates all of the lighting in the front and back yard. I love that I can set it to come on and go off at a time that I designate. I really like the on at dusk and off at dawn. The box has been working terrifically for me with no issues since installation. The installation was also very easy and it seems extremely durable.

Lots of power
The box looks really good and is made of stainless steel with a digital display. I like that I have the option to go dusk to dawn, or use the timer. Unit has 300 watts of power for each 12 and 15 volt circuit. Transformer comes with a one year warranty, mounting hardware, and has a built in circuit protector. Transformer works great and I’m very pleased with the operation.

Well made, good power, simple to operate:
Well made, good power, simple to operate:As some of the other reviews have mentioned, this unit stands out in just how heavy and secure it feels. The unit itself is very solid and nicely put together. The power output of this device is also perfect for anyone who needs to power a relatively substantial amount of outdoor lighting. The voltage compensation works as advertised even when loaded with longer lines, keeping the lights steady and strong even as you saturate the output terminals. The operating interface of this unit is also well designed – the auto-sensor is easy to set, helps conserve power and keeps your outdoor setting well lit like a well timed streetlight would.Overall, this is a great product and I would recommend.

A Beast Of A Transformer
My goodness, this low voltage Treewell transformer is definitely NOT a run of the mill big box home improvement store transformer. At all. This thing is truly impressive. It far exceeded my expectations. The first thing you will definitely notice about this low voltage transformer is its weight. This thing is heavy. Really heavy. It’s a beast of a transformer. Furthermore, I also *really* like that this transformer’s body is not the typical painted metal. It’s 304 stainless steel! That is a *substantial* upgrade from typical household landscape transformers. And in my opinion, its stainless steel body puts this transformer in the commercial quality class. And that brings me to this transformer’s price. This transformer is currently priced at $99.99. Which I honestly think is an outstanding price that makes ordering this low voltage transformer a no-brainer.If you have any questions about this Treewell low voltage transformer, please feel free to ask, and I’ll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

Rugged transformer for outdoor lighting
This Treewell low voltage transformer is very solid built and at 300W can handle even a very big yard of low voltage lighting. The best feature of this transformer is that even after a power outage the setting you have selected is retained. My previous low voltage transformer would go back to its default setting when the power went out which meant dusk to dawn. It wasted lots of electricity each time the power went out and I forgot to reset it to a four-hour cycle. This transformer is built like an armored truck and should last for many years. The transformer has the capability of outputting two lines of 12V and two lines of 15V which lets you keep run lengths shorter.

Heavy Duty
This transformer is heavy duty and heavy wow. This replaced a 200w transformer I had and this seems to be a lot better as the old one was wearing out the lights were dimmed. Installed really fast into the same wiring I had for the hood transformer. Overall very nice, heavy duty and should hold up to the elements.

Solid state
We’ve had to replace our landscape transformer a couple of times and are looking for a longer-term solution. Since we’re now running all LED lights, the drain isn’t that much but the transformer is mounted on the side of our garage in a very exposed position. This transformer is considerably more robust than our past box-store purchases. It looks like something that the pros use and install. We’ll be upgrading our set-up this weekend. This is a very heavy transformer and should hold up to the storms we get here.

Complete power system for low voltage lighting
I like that this power transformer has the ability to supply a higher voltage for the longer power cable runs. The transformer also includes a timer and photocell so you won’t have to purchase extra components to add that feature. The weatherproof case is outdoor ready and looks nice too.

Small Footprint, Lots of Power at a Great Price
We have a one-acre yard and no streetlights, so we use low-voltage lighting for ambiance as well as security. I’ve been wanting to install additional lighting in the backyard around a planned gazebo, and when I saw this 200W low-voltage transformer at a great price, I ordered it. It features a photocell sensor and programmable countdown timer that can turn lights on at sunset and off at dawn or any other time. The 200W capacity is awesome and allows for lots of expansion. I currently have two transformers lighting up the front yard, 100 watts each, and I’m only using 35% of their capacity, so 200W is more than adequate. This transformer is about half the size of my older 100W units. Its compact footprint makes it easier to find a secure and inconspicuous place to install it. The construction is stainless steel, which is an upgrade over typical landscape transformers. It offers a digital display and a memory function that stores the last mode setting used in case of a power outage. It has a built-in circuit breaker for safety. Overall, this is a really good low-voltage transformer at a great price, and I may order a second one just to have it on hand as a replacement.

Built like a tank, good price
This unit is all stainless steel, not plastic like so many on the market. There is a 12 volt and 15 volt connection. The screw terminals are well made solid, easy to connect, and hold tight. The box has several functions, manual on/off, on at dusk – off at dawn, on at dusk for a programed number of hours. The price and construction combine to make this a very good deal.

Nice Unit
This feels like a well put together unit. Easy hook up and go. The Dusk to Dawn sensor works great. Just make sure you put this unit in an area to sense the light change if you use that feature. Easy to use. This unit looks like it should last. Will see how it does over the winter.

Great compact transformer!
Replaced my 20-year-old transformer with this one. My old one is twice the size of this one and still was low wattage rated. This one is 200W. I have installed 16 12V low voltage lights (3 Watts each). Recommendation is not to exceed 80% capacity (80% of 200W = 160W) It still has the capacity to take more lights. Very easy to set up and use. It looks amazingly compact and stays well hidden in plain sight. Highly recommend this product.

What a beast! This thing is HEAVY!
As far as low voltage transformers go, this one is one of the heavier ones I’ve held. It’s made of stainless steel all around instead of painted metal, so it’s durability in harsh outdoor environments should be great. It even comes with a template for the two screw holes you need to make to mount it. While mounting this is easy enough for a seasoned installer, DIY types with greatly appreciate that little detail. My only issue is the manual. The English is quite broken, so if you’re not comfortable working with anything that uses electricity you’ll want to do some reading on hobby sites to make sure you’re doing it correctly. For anyone with even a modicum of experience though it’ll be a breeze to set this up. I can’t wait to get it going with my new yard lights!

I didn’t install it, but my electrician said TREEWELL 300W Low Voltage Landscape Transformer is well constructed…he usually complains a lot about how things are built nowadays. I like the dusk-till-dawn plus timed at desired hours lighting features…they’re easy to programed.

Nice enclosure
I like the rugged enclosure this is in. Makes me feel better than just leaving the ones out in the weather. I’ve been through a few cheaper power supplies that came in my outdoor light kits that have failed in less than a year. Hopefully this one will hold up better.

my old transformer died and this one plugged right in and lit all my front yard lights
My old landscape transformer bit the dust and I found this one just at the right moment. It is about the same size as my original one, and all I did was mount it, plug it in and attach the main wires that were attached to the old one and boom, back in business and my lighting is as bright as it was.

Very Basic
HEAVY. Very heavy. Nice stainless housing. It “works”, but due to its limited functionality will not be used for my home. Glaring question right out of the box, “In-box photocell? REALLY? And not even an option to install a remote photocell??” This just does not make ANY sense to me. This design tells me that the engineers behind its design have never actually INSTALLED one of these system or perhaps ever USED one in a real life scenario. From a functionality perspective, this severely limits the user when determining its installation location, possibly even eliminating its usability in many cases. I can easily say that just talking it over with my neighbor, both of us found it very difficult to locate a position on our home that would allow us to install it without the need for further modifying the exterior in some fashion or else there would be some trade-offs in functionality. This design is best suited for new-construction without existing landscaping and/or where there are no existing landscaping or exterior challenges to contend with. While it may seem like a no-brainer to install a set of landscape lights, there is definitely some experience, skill and knowledge required to do it right. Electrical safety applies to low-voltage applications, too- the power going into the transformer to convert it into “low-voltage” is just the opposite- HIGH VOLTAGE. Considerations for proper installation and safety when using this unit, may best be left to a pro. Once the transformer (this product or similar) is installed, then the rest of the system is “low voltage” and much safer and easier for the basic home-owner to install. If you are simply replacing an existing unit and dont require more than one zone, this unit is perfect for you. Plug and play for that specific purpose. If not, there will be a myriad of variables to consider.

It works!
I just set it up today, so I don’t have waterproof information. I also didn’t mount it to the wall as I haven’t drilled into brick, but I have it put up and I saw that it said 2 common spots and 2 for the other wire. As long as you use 1 common and 1 of the other, you’re good. I plugged it in at night and it took a little for it to realize it was dark, but it did turn on after a few seconds.

Excellent transformer for landscape lighting.
This 200W transformer easily provides all the power needed for our landscape lights which comprise 6 stair lights and 13 staked lights. Combined, these draw less than 200 watts. More extensive landscaping might require a higher wattage transformer. This transformer includes has a number of control options, including manual on/off, daylight photo sensor, and timer options. We actually use none of those features because we plug it into a “smart home” switch controllable by app, which works great and can be controlled from anywhere that has an internet connection. The transformer has two output terminals (12V and 15V) suitable for two separate daisy-chain strands of lighting. It is wall mountable and includes screws and anchors.

Accurate & easy control
This is a very good Low voltage transformer that has a long cord, about 5.5 feet usable. You don’t need to place it next to an outlet. It has two outsources of low voltage, 12 & 15, very accurate. Easy to connect the low voltage wires. The timer is simple and intuitive, dusk to dawn or dusk to from 1-9 hours. You may not be able to “hide” this transformer as the light cell is in front of the box rather than the top. If you place it behind bushes, make sure that enough light goes to the light cell.Overall, a very good performer.

Heavy duty
Pretty impressed with the build quality of this this transformer. I I’ve been looking at upgrading our landscape lighting to to the low voltage one and the key to a good system is the transformer. Solid, heavy duty with built in features I’ve been looking for such as auto dusk yo dawn without need to connect a separate timer.

Works great for my low-voltage lights!
This transformer is big, blocky, and works as it should. I just tested it with my low-voltage lights and the photo cell sensor turned on all of the lights, lighting up the exterior of our house brightly. When I put a light on the photo cell, after a brief period of time, the lights go out. This transformer is stainless steel. The shell of the transformer is comprised of thick, rigid steel and is very sturdy. The transformer is easy to mount and hook up the wires. I prefer this over the black finish as this will spend several hours in the direct sun during the daylight hours. The setup and instructions for operation is similar to other transformers that I own. One difference that I see (and that I like) is that operation instructions are also on the front of the transformer.

Well Built Transformer
I am waiting for my contractor to install this transformer on the outside of my house.I will leave a follow up review at that point. But my initial impression and the impression of my neighbor who was a life long electrician, and also my contractor who seen this transformer already are that its extremely sturdy and well built. My neighbors words were “This thing is built like a tank”.It is also good looking for a transformer. simple straight lines and nice clean metal. it will not be an eyesore and is small enough not to stick out too much. So far so good on this product. Will determine soon how easy install was and how weather proof it is.But for the price, the build quality appears to be top notch.

300W + LED = a lot of lights
I replaced a 20 year old transformer with this one and updated some lights. Using the new, low wattage LED lights allowed me to add several more lights to the string. this transformer is built to last. Set up was easy – no longer having to use pegs for ‘on-off’ is nice. This transformer has a light sensor. you can turn on and off manually, you can set it to come on at dusk and off at dawn, or to come on at dusk and then turn off after a specified number of hours. very simple to use and operate. If you need a box for your landscape lights than look no further than this. Just massively blown away by this. It is incredibly durable. In fact it will probably outlast your landscape lights. Solid buy
Wasn’t too sure at first, but setting it up was more straightforward than I expected. Since hooking it up, the lights have been consistent, no flickers or anything like that. It’s low voltage so its not crazy expensive. Had a tiny hiccup with the timer, but got it figured out. Solid buy if youre looking into landscape lighting.

Built like a tank
It hard to appreciate just how heavily built this unit is until you open the box and pick it up. There is a massive transformer inside a thick stainless steel case. It displays a level of build quality rarely encountered for home use, one which fully justifies its price. I have two smaller lighting transformer controllers and they now seem like toys compared to this one.Not inconspicuous and gross overkill for a half dozen lights, it comes into its own for two or more larger arrays. When 5 star reviews have come to be expected for products that just work, it’s hard to quickly convey that a product stands above others of its type. This one does, and exemplifies what a 5 star product should be.
