Tips For Lawn Care Success

I applied the lawn food on May 1st, 2023. (1st picture)The top picture was April 30th, the day before I applied it. The bottom picture is on May 4th, 2023. I took some screenshots from my other camera and already seeing a huge difference in my grass! I followed all instructions and I have been watering my grass daily (2 times a day) and yes, it works!

Hi Folks,I live near Charlotte, NC. It often rains here. The grass usually grows OK, but our clayish type of soil is not the best for grass.If you simply want to green up your grass and give it a simply healthy looking green, this fertilizer works.I place it right before I know a rain is coming. Do I see it green up in three days? No. Do you see, perhaps, a little more green at that time? Yes. But, you really become pleasantly surprised as the weeks move forward. One week later, yes, greener, two weeks later, yes even more green, three weeks later, even more green. The lawn has a very pleasant dark green look to it. I place my Scott’s push spreader way up to 7.I think it may be a good idea to spread it on new grass after it has grown a few inches, and, again, there is a rain coming within hours of you laying it down. I have done this. It appears to help the yellowing, the color of the new growth.

I’ve used Scotts for years and like their other products, this worked as advertised. Lawn got much greener within about a week and is quite a bit fuller and lush. However, customer support has definitely deteriorated over the years since I started using Scotts decades ago. Now when you call, they have to consult their information to answer the simplest of questions and need exact UPC codes even though they make one Scott’s Turf Builder for instance. If you’re reading this Scotts, lets work on customer support.

We replaced a new lawn last September. However, this year the Winter was a bit longer and colder than usual. Therefore, many parts of the lawn turned to yellow, brown and start to die. We watched many videos from other user, we ordered it finally. You can not expect the lawn will have any changes in 3 days, but you will see the different after 1 week or 2 weeks. In 2 weeks time, my lawn looks green and full, the brown areas started to grow new lawn! I love this product and I am going to order a new one for my next feeding in summer. Recommended to buy.

My lawn was more yellow than ever this year even though I had fertilized in the spring. Put this down on 6/25 and the second picture is from 7/1. It’s even greener now but it’s dark out so I can’t take a new pic. I’ll try to update tomorrow.This fertilizer is safe for your lawn and affordable compared to some others so I definitely recommend this for a mid summer treatment! Glad I found it!

I am extremely pleased with this product. I ordered the Scott’s Wiz spreader to go with it and getting it applied was super easy. I also like that per the instructions you can still walk on the lawn after applying if necessary. We had our lawn installed last year but due to scheduling it was rough because we had to get it installed at the hottest point in the summer. Ultimately, we were about to get it in a good state and it stayed that way for several months and stayed green until around December which is amazing, but Fescue is like that.As you can see from the first two pictures from around Easter the lawn was thin and patchy and didn’t look great. The next three are from June and it looks beautiful. Not only did the Scott’s help stimulate growth in the patchy spots, it also is giving the grass that luscious deep green color. It also proved to be versatile, as I seemed to not get even distribution on my first run which caused a diagonal patch of the lawn to still be thin and patchy as the rest of the lawn started to look great. I was able to supply additional product in the spotty areas and those filled in too. We did have quite a bit of rain as well after my first application which may have helped.The only critique I have is the whole 3 day thing, that was not my experience, it took about 2 weeks from application to get where it is in the picture now, though I will say the areas I hit on my second application did seem to fill in much faster, around 4-5 days. Lastly, the area I was working was relatively small and I used a half a bag, so for those that have larger yards you may need multiple bags. As far as application, I’d recommend being conservative initially since you can always go back and fill things in. I’m a believer, the stuff works.

If you want greener grass fast this is what you want to use. It works in 3 days or sooner. But be sure to keep it off your sidewalks or driveways as it will strain a rusty spot when ever water gets on it. I just always take my blower and blow any product that gets on cement back into the lawn.

Well, this is one of those products that is sort of hard to really tell if it’s doing anything or not to be honest. I guess if you had a lawn on death’s door and applied this lawn food you could probably expect to see a miraculous turn around pretty fast. While I, admittedly, have a big old black thumb and my front yard is rough, it’s no zombie lawn just yet.Let me be honest here, I am not so invested in my yard grass that I own a bunch of fancy equipment like spreaders or seed throwers. It’s just grass – it’ll grow or it won’t and if I put something special on it, I’m doing that out of an abundance of generosity and good will. I spread these granules out using the decidedly old fashioned way – a red solo cup, a steady hand and a best guess by eyeball as to if I was laying out an even layer or not. My first impression upon opening the bag was horror – it smelled like a very ripe cat litter box. And that is why I do not get involved with fancy yard care as a rule – it’s gross.Nonetheless, I staggered out with a grimace and tossed this food out on my grass. There were no clumps and it spread smoothly. Scotts bag claims that your grass will be greener and prettier in just 3 days, so I took a photo of one spot one day one, day two and day four. I’m including the first and last photos. It looks a bit greener to me in that spot. The overall lawn looks greener to me in general as well. Of course, we’ve also gotten rain this week too, so….could be the lawn food or could just be mother nature, but odds are good it’s the lawn food. I’m just sorry I had to smell it before it I put it out – lesson learned.******** 45 Day UPDATE ******Wow! The grass where this was applied has gotten really rich green in color and thicker and held the deep color. I’ve done nothing else to it other than water since this was put on that part of the yard 45 days ago.

First…. IF you have a Fescue lawn, it’s NUMBER ONE enemy is fungus which is often caused from over watering OR watering after sunset. Fescue grass is beautiful but is also HIGH MAINTENANCE. With that in mind here are some tips:Yellow circles or a section of lawn turning yellow or with brown spots OR blades of grass with a white, silvery color are just some of the signs of fungus. Often people think their Fescue lawn needs more watering when they see the lawn turning yellow. That is where often a lawn is watered too much. KILL the fungus and you will see a BIG change in the greenery also, will have a healthy lawn. Usually, the fungus season is from spring through early to late fall during warmer temperaturesFescue grass will not grow in a fungus infested lawn. What Fescue grass exist will die, unless the fungus is completely eradicated. With that in mind, apply a fungicide at a rate of twice or even three times the recommended rate. I personally use the liquid in a bottle that attaches to a garden hose. Apply the fungicide evenly. Then monitor the situation. After eradicating the fungus, usually once a month or every two months with the recommended application rate is needed to control any fungus re-infestation.Second… once the fungus has been killed and an ongoing fungicide treatment plan is in place, this is where the Scott’s Green Max Lawn Food does its job intended. IT DOES MAKE HEALTHY FESCUE LAWNS A DARK GREEN. The iron in lawn food is what will green the grass. Scott’s has additional iron for that purpose, combined with other elements that work together for maximum green and growth.I have been using the Scott’s Green Max for several years on our Fescue Lawn. It’s the only lawn food I will use. In the south, usually about the second or third week in May is the cutoff point for warm/hot weather application. Then resume your lawn feeding around the first or second week in September when temperatures start to cool. Then around mid October apply a second feeding and again around mid November to protect and feed during the cold winter months.DON’T FORGET to also apply lime in pellet form in October for winter conditioning. Then reapply lime around March or April.Hope this helps….

I had my whole yard redone last year, it was mulch from previous owner. I had everything scraped away, and had a landscaper come in and till up the dirt, add dirt, retill the yard and then level everything out. The grass grew well, but seemed to struggle. I bought a bag of this, spread it by hand in the spring and then watered the yard for a few days.The results were amazing! super fast growing grass, super green and luxurious.Sadly I did not apply another dose before summer, so my grass now looks like it is again struggling. Once summer is over, right before fall I will apply another dose to my yard to hopefully help it regain before winter.

I put this out on the recommended setting for the spreader and to be honest there was no difference in the grass. Pretty disappointed. But I did spill some because my spreader fell over. I used my blower to blow it around the best I could. About 3-4 days later this spot I spilled some in the yard was very very green and thick. I wondered if I was putting enough down. So the following month I put twice as much down and man it works. It works very well. Not only is it green but it’s super thick. I would just experiment with how much to put down and once you find how much it works wonderfully! I would give it 5 stars but the setting for spreader information on back seems to be far to less. Up your usage and it’ll be great!

I recently purchased a home and know zero about yard maintenance other than mowing. How we all of my neighbors have gorgeous laws, so of course I can’t have mine looking like the forgotten stepchild. Lol.My yard and everything in it was starting to die under the daily 104 temperatures in Texas. It’s been a cruel summer 🎶I went to tiktok to find what the most reliable product was for green grass and saw this product constantly recommended.The process was easy. I simply followed the directions on the back which pretty much said just spread and water, so that’s what I did.Now this product advertised that you would get green color in three days. I’m not saying that it’s impossible as there are so many factors that come into play with growing and gardening as I have quickly learned. I didn’t notice any dramatic changes in 3 days, however I am starting to see results after about 1 week. My yard still needs work to fill in patches that have little to no grass, but I am happy with the results as I can now see the change taking affect.I have been watering daily for 30min/1hour and I have included the pictures of the progress so far. The first picture is from July 15th and the second from July 22nd (one week) Can’t wait to see how it is in a month or two!

We had a rainy season this year in California 2023. It rained so much, I would sprinkle this the day before it rained. My grass looks so green due to this amazing Scotts green feed!It looks so nice ! My dad uses this stuff too and his grass always looks so nice. I def recommend it ! I upset my husband cause I made it look more green than he did lol! He was using the wrong stuff. Key is don’t cut your grass too short than it gets spotty 🙁

Rather than my usual early spring “weed & feed”, I wanted to just green up my yard as I really don’t have much of a week problem. I also liked that this product isn’t harmful to my dog. I spread the fertilizer as instructed and caught a light rain within a day or two. It didn’t take more than a few days to see a change – and within a week, I had the greenest lawn on the street. Several neighbors have commented on how lush and green my yard is so early in the season. Should I share the secret?

So i read the reviews and went for it! IT WORKED!!!! i live here in the Central Valley Of Cali and my new house had yellow patches and a 60 percent yellow front lawn; well now its 100 % VIBRANT GREEN! Very Vivid and popping! We love our new healthy Grass.I used the Scotts Lawn Feed Spreader that I pushed around easily, and hand fed the lil patches As well. I started end of last Summer and into Fall, and now my grass is amazing!

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS PRODUCT FOR 5 YEARS I HAVE 2 NEIGHBORS WHO LISTEN TO ME , AND BEILIEVE IT OR NOT TWO LAWN CARE PROVIDERS SAID I GIVE UP WHAT DO YOU USE . I HAVE AS WELL AS MY NEIGHBORS NEXT DOOR HAVE BERMUDA GRASS ITS FOR US THE PERFECT REMEDY VERY GOOD RESULTSDONT WANT TO BRAGE BUT WE ALL HAVE THE GREENEST GRASS MY RECIPE ONCE AFTER FIRST CUT AND EVERY 6 WEEKS THERE AFTER SETTING # 4

Scott’s Super Green fertilizer is good before summer heat and rain causes overgrowth. Contains 5% iron, which is known to help darken grass greener tone and reduce overgrowth some. Apply after using Scotts Plus Halts for crabgrass into fall, unless heavy weed lawn needing fertilizer plus herbicide.
