About this item Deep red spring foliage Size shipped: 2-3 ft tall in containers with soil Beautiful golden, orange or red color in Autumn Zone: 5-8 / Mature Height: 10′ – 15′ Spread: to 10′ / Growth: moderate / Part Sun – Full Shade / Soil: Widely adaptable / Moisture: Well-drained, Moist / Form: rounded, upright Now is the time to plant! Cooler temperatures and more rainfall provide a smooth transition for the plants. As long as your soil is not frozen solid 2 inches below ground level, the roots will still take perfectly and continue to grow throughout the winter. This gives you a head start on a spring and summer of production.
Red Japanese Maple * Full sun to Partial shade * Zones 5-8 * 20′ tall * 20′ wide * Well drained soil * Small leaves emerge in shades of orange and pink!!! Brilliant orange foliage in Autumn! This red leaf Japanese maple has finely-divided, lacy leaves of a deep red in the spring but foliage color fades to light green in early summer. Leaves take on a beautiful golden, orange or red color in fall. A small, deciduous tree with delicate, upright branches, Red Japanese maple reaches a height and spread of about 20 feet, forming a vase shaped specimen tree. The multiple trunks are picturesque and show nicely when lit up at night from beneath the canopy. This cultivar of Japanese maple is grown for its colored leaves and interesting growth habit.

Four trees, & counting.
I’ve received number three & four Japanese Maple trees. The first two came in early August. They seem to be growing. I am a bit concerned for one of them, for it has developed “spots” on its leaves. But they both seem to be growing. Numbers three & four, seem healthy. Maybe even a bit better looking than #’s 1 & 2. However, they are a good foot shorter than 1&2: and they have ” blue tape” around their trunks. Not sure if I was supposed to remove it or not. 1&2 are in the ground, & 3&4 are in larger pots. (They’ll be kept in the garage this winter.),. Hopefully things continue to progress well.

No ID tags on plants
I purchased 4 trees and 3 of them look great and sized as expected but one is very small and doesn’t look like a 2 year plant. But besides that my bigger problem is that none are labeled to tell the varieties apart??? Also they came with plastic wrap around them and no planting instructions I’m not sure weather to repot before winter.
